Or take a look at Aurelio's Resume for Music Hard/Software Companies
At an early stage (10 years old), I got interested in computers . .
. , that was back in the old days of the Commodore
64 8-bit personal computer.
With the C64, I learned the basics of computer hardware and software, and
it powerfully influenced my carreer choice (Computer Engineering).
About two years latert, music turned to be one of my biggest hobbies, when
I bought my first synthesizer (Yamaha
PSS-480)
By 1991, I had learned the basics of MIDI, sequencing and synthesizers
on my own (and also, a subscription to KEYBOARD
Magazine) and designed and built the first incarnation of my home studio,
using an Alesis MMT-8 sequencer,
SR-16 drum machine, E-mu Proteus 1, and
a Yamaha PSS-680.
Today, Purple Noise consists of a P120 PC running Cakewalk Pro Audio, Cool
Edit, ReBirth 338, WaveLab 1.6, Sound Forge 4.0, Waves Native Power Pack,
DSP FX, and a few other software synths, Yamaha W7, E-mu Proteus/1, Alesis
SR-16, Digitech DSP 256 XL, and a DOD 822 Mixer. Mixdowns go to a Sony
DTC-670 DAT. For amplification and monitoring I use a home stereo: Technics
SB-L72 Speakers powered by an Optimus STA-3190 Receiver.
I have always been atracted to all forms of electronic music including
new age, electronic instrumental, etc. But it was not until recently that
I started experimenting with drum loops and the music styles that most
likely use them (i.e. techno and house music)
